Scared Stoked's Room

If you are anything like me, you totally LOVE to see what people have in their bedrooms and how they've decorated them. My philosophy is that if my room isn't unmistakably mine, wherein you could never mistake it for ANYONE ELSE'S in the world, then I've won. :3 So for my web site, I thought I might as well upload pictures of my room, because a picture is worth a thousand words, right? And my room DEFINITELY tells you a lot about me.

I spend most of my time sitting at my desk: drawing, coding, browsing other websites, playing video games, or just hanging out. My main laptop is a Panasonic Let's Note CF-SZ6, imported from Japan. My second monitor is a 2005 Apple Cinema Display that I was given by my aunt, who got it off of Craigslist for like 20 bucks and used over the pandemic as a second monitor but stopped needing it after things started opening up again. My third monitor is a 1997 Sharp 13J-M100. I got it off of Facebook Marketplace not too long ago. Because of needing to convert my digital output from my computer, the resolution is not super high on it, so I usually use it to watch videos or play music when my other two monitors are preoccupied with other things. It stays off most of the time. My drawing tablet is a UGEE M708. Every other tech piece you see on my desk was picked up from either Goodwill, Savers, or Facebook Marketplace. There's plenty of older or used tech that works just as good as the new stuff, and you can get it at way higher of a discount. I always keep my eye out for interesting or cool stuff whenever I go. I also have both my 3DS sitting on my desk. I mainly use them to just play Pokemon. If you ever need a version-specific trade for your Pokedex, let me know and I'll see if I have one I could trade you. I'm a big completionist and am... very, very slowly working towards my goal of completing the Pokedex in every single game.

Here's another angle. You can get a glimpse of my photo wall of me and my friends and a little bit of my rabbit shelf; a shelf of a bunch of little rabbit trinkets I've picked up and have been given over the years.

Here's the little corner my desk is situatied in. It's a little close to the closet, which does sometimes make it hard to get stuff out. That corner of my closet has big storage bins of fur and fabric in it. But my room is so small, there's not really another place for my desk to go. I have a few different posters up on my closet, some I've printed myself, some I've gotten from cons, and the big Pokemon one I got in a box with a few cards, and I had NO IDEA how big it was going to be until I opened the box. Any bigger and it wouldn't have fit in my closet! I have no clue where I would have put it if it was. You can also see my Webkinz Zumbuddies. I'm really into Webkinz memorabilia.

I have a few records on display purely because I like the art on them. Don't chide me for not owning a record player, I could totally go and get one if I want. I'm just more of a CD or MP3 player guy. My custom backpack by Belovedfoxx on Twitter also hangs here! I bring it to all conventions I attend, so if my big black and red ears don't give me away from behind immediately, my backpack is also a pretty good way to spot me. I also made that Nidoran fursuit right under it, his name is Neros. He's a lot warmer than Meros though (and the fabric inside makes me break out super bad :[ ) so I don't wear him too often.

My dresser itself is Ikea, but I built the shelf above it that just rests on top for extra storage. Out of what little I've built, I'm most proud of this one. It holds a few more cool tech things I own, my small and pathetic DVD collection, and a bunch of toys that have found their way into my home as well. On the wall behind this, I have up a bunch of band posters, mostly from concerts I've been to. The big empty blank space next to that is reserved for more band posters, it just doesn't really feel super common for bands to be selling them at their concerts. Which is a huge shame! I don't think I've ever said NO to a poster, no matter how inconvenient they are to hold through the concert. I also have a small manga collection, which you can see the top of on my shelf. And Meros! My awesome fursuit made by Cullahfool.

More band posters, and most importantly, one of my two bulletin boards full of a BUNCH of badges I've bought. I love supporting small artists and I love seeing Meros in different styles, so it's a win-win situation. Small artists also love to be supported! I would estimate that I've spent over $3000 on art of Meros alone (including his fursuit). A lot of my TV is clipped out of the picture here, but I also really like it a lot. It's a Sharp Aquos, which originally retailed in 2001 for $3000! And I got it for 30 bucks a year or so ago. It's a very, very good TV, although a lot of its inputs are broken. It has a single HDMI input, which kind of bums me out, but I totally understand for 2001, and then FIVE RCA inputs! Which would be awesome, if two of them weren't broken. So instead I always have my DVD player, Wii, and Pippin plugged in. I freqently have to worm my arms behind my TV and fumble around to plug or unplug my Switch or laptop from it. There are never enough ports to go around.

Here's a closer look at my TV stand. What consoles and laptops do you recognize?

My beeeeeed!!!!!! Most of my pillow cases I've made, along with two of my five blankets. The dakimakura is by Aisuart of their character Gingersnap that I got at FC. The big stuffed gator (the best part of my bed) was made by Creep Cat Toys. I got it at GSFC as an impulse purchase and I've never impulsively bought anything better. I fall asleep cuddling that thing NIGHTLY. You can also see more of my manga collection on the first piece of "furniture" I ever built (really just a board I painted black and nailed to the headboard of my bed). Above that is even more art I've purchased. Hopefully that board will be filled soon, too!

I will definitely upload more pictures of my different collections as time goes on, but in the moment it was easiest for me to just snap one quick picture of my Webkinz rabbit collection. At this point, the only two I'm missing are the Signature Lop and the Hoppy Floppy Bunny. Both pretty rare finds. Maybe someday! I'm really happy with what I do have, though. Webkinz was a huge part of my childhood and I never really let that go. I still hop on to play every once in a while too. I am a massive sucker for Atlantiles. If you want to friend me, my username on there is MerosXP!
